HIGH TEMPERATURE TEST
Lighters must not leakand much less explode when exposed to high temperatures.

Test: lighters are introduced in an oven to 65 º during a period of 4 hours

DROP TEST
Lighters must withstand falls without suffering alterations in its safety, that is to say without a break of the deposit, without a self-ignition taking place and, especially, without exploding.

Test: vertical, reversed and horizontal fall against a cement surface from a height of 1.5m.

2 MINUTES CONTINUED COMBUSTION TEST
Lighters must endure a continued combustion of 2 min. The low quality lighters do not pass this test, they melt and provoke other problems

Test: the lighters must support a constant ignition during 2 minutes

VOLUMETRIC DISPLACEMENT OF THE FUELLE TEST
Due to changes of temperature and pressure, the volume of the fuel can suffer changes. To guarantee the lighter safety, the gas volume must be lower than 85 % of the capacity of the fuel deposit. Besides, if we expose the lighter to high temperatures or pressure, it can leak, generating high flames or, even explode.

Test: Volume of the fuel lower than 85 % of the deposit capacity.
